Don't take this as harshly as it looks, I'm not trying to lay the smack down or anything like that.
Most all of us have dealt with similar issues at various points in our lives, but what we're all trying to tell you is that you will make it through this, and that life does get better. What you lack is perspective to deal with what's in you head.
So my advice is to go get some perspective. Are you involved with any religious organizations? If not, try finding a charitable organization near you to be involved with. I know that there are organizations who would love it for you to volunteer your engineering skills on a project.
My wife works with a guy who spends a month each year in Central America somewhere working on projects to help the locals improve their community. Find a group going to help others over spring break. Do something to help others. Trust me, you will feel way better about yourself and life won't seem so horrible.

The worst thing you can do is sit and wallow in this feeling. Get away from the screen for a few hours, get some fresh air, and do some things that make you happy. Find some awesome food to eat, listen to your favorite songs, take that drive. Call a family member or a friend who always manages to cheer you up. Whatever it takes to turn the tide.

Hey man, this happened on TV last night. The world is a pretty great place when they can pull off the boxing glove arrow without it being a total joke.
